Page layout changed
July 23, 2006
I modified the layout of the results page to reduce vertical scrolling and to allow you to see the restaurant information next to the map. To accommodate this change, the width of the layout had to be increased. You'll need a screen resolution of at least 1024 x 768 to view the site without horizontal scrolling. (Most computers and monitors produced in the last few years should support this screen resolution.)
As always, send all questions and comments to info (at) equidistanteats.com.

Interface change and search enhancements
June 1, 2006
I made changes, hopefully for the better, to the interface on the front page. It has a cleaner, more consistent look now. The big news, however, is the search upgrade. Equidistant Eats is now using version 3 of the Yahoo Local Search API. You can now search for specific restaurant names and/or within certain categories, such as Italian, Pizza, Fast Food, etc. This should also solve the problem of strange, non-restaurant-related results being returned.
Next on the agenda is an upgrade to the layout of the search results page, which I'll hopefully be able to implement within the next month.
Thanks to everyone who has been using the site, and please continue to tell your friends about it.

Search algorithm fixed
April 27, 2006
I fixed the search algorithm. It now yields better results on long-distance searches (such as searches across two or more states).
I also added a suggestion page. The suggestion page has been removed. If you have comments or suggestions, please send an e-mail to info (at) equidistanteats.com.

Equidistant Eats launched
March 25, 2006
Last night I launched a new project called Equidistant Eats. Built with a few Yahoo APIs, it allows you to enter multiple addresses (at least two and up to three) and find centrally located restaurants. The input addresses and restaurants are displayed on a map. Information about each restaurant and links to driving directions from each input address are also provided.
It's free for anyone to use and should yield decent results in any city or metropolitan area, but keep in mind it's still a work in progress and your results may vary.
Check it out at http://www.equidistanteats.com. Tell your friends.
